Cash Flow Management Tax Tip – Where to File W-2s and 1099s Online

CFM Tip 4Tick, Tock, the deadline for filing W-2s and 1099s is fast appraoching! It’s January 31st! Every good cash flow management plan includes filing tax forms on time to avoid penalties, right?

If you are a small business that doesn’t have a payroll service or accountant filing them for you, then you can do it online, fast and easy!

For W-2s you can file online at no charge at the Social Security Administration’s website. The Social Security’s website does not let you file 1099s though.

You can file 1099s very easily and very inexpensively at GreatLand’s website.

I use that website to file my 1099-misc forms for all my affiliates who earn money recommending my software and books because it so easy and inexpensive. And yes, I earn a micro-tiny commission when I refer people to the site, but that’s not my motivation here. I want you to be able to file online, on time and save money.

A pack of twenty-five 1099 forms can run as high as $35 at the office supply store. If you only have 1 or 2 forms to send, you can do that for less than $10 right from your computer. Sending 100 forms costs as little as $1.70 each. It’s a real bargain and saves a trip to the office supply store! That’s smart cash flow management planning and your business doesn’t waste time or money.

Okay, that’s it for today!

Have a great rest of the week!
